A review of chest X-ray in pulmonary hypertension: correlation of right descending pulmonary artery diameter with mean pulmonary artery pressure

چکیده
Background: Pulmonary hypertension is a condition which there an increase in mean pulmonary artery pressure measured at ≥25 mmHg. The gold standard diagnosing this right heart catheterization. Enlargement of descending on chest radiographs sign hypertension. However, the value radiographic measurements reported was diverse. study analyzes correlation between (RDPA) diameter and means catheterization to understand whether RDPA X-ray could be predictor determining severity hypertension. Methods: Thirty-five subjects were reviewed compare from posteroanterior projection mPAP them analyzed using Pearson's test. cut-off point defined ROC curve.Result: revealed high positive (p<0.001; r=0.824). 21.8 mm (sensitivity 81% specificity 85.7%; AUC =0.9)Conclusion: measurement x-ray positively correlates with pressure. Therefore, can predict

Application of centrifugal pump in right ventricular failure due to pulmonary artery hypertension. (A case report)
Background: It has not been yet developed a ost suitable method to treat right ventricular failure due to pulmonar artery hypertention resulted from ventricular arrhythia. Though some case reports about patients ready to heart transplant using left assist device or biventral assist device as bridge have been published in Journals, but nocase concerning application of centrifugal pump for treatm...
متن کاملPulmonary artery diameter to predict pulmonary hypertension in pulmonary sarcoidosis.
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a known complication of pulmonary sarcoidosis with a prevalence ranging from 5% to 74% [1]. The aetiology of PH in sarcoidosis is not fully understood. Usually, it is attributed to the destruction of the distal capillary bed by lung fibrosis and/or chronic hypoxaemia. However, the severity of PH does not correlate consistently with the degree of pulmonary fibrosis...
متن کاملSilent Pulmonary Artery Dissection in a patient with old Pulmonary Balloon Valvuloplasty
Percutaneous pulmonary balloon valvuloplasty (PBV) remains the treatment of choice for pulmonary stenosis (PS). This procedure is effective, safe and gives excellent results. Pulmonary artery (PA) dissection is a rare complication of PBV. This report is a case of an asymptomatic 17-year-old male with a history of PBV due to severe PS dating back to fifteen years ago. During recent echocardiogra...
متن کاملEchocardiographic evaluation of systolic and mean pulmonary artery pressure in patients with pulmonary hypertension.
We read with interest the recent article by Pyxaras et al. proposing corrected regression equations for improving the echocardiographic estimation of systolic pulmonary artery pressure (sPAP) and mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) in patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH). The authors propose to slightly modify both the sPAP Bernouilli equation and the empirical mPAP equation (mPAP 1⁄4 0....

W hile the seminal advance in the treatment of pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH) over the past 2 decades has been pharmacological targeting of dysfunctional endothelium-derived pathways that contribute to the characteristic vascular remodeling of this condition irrespective of etiology (1), several novel interventional techniques have also been useful in selected patients. Atrial septostomy, ...
